Blu Collar Technology sets it up, writes the messages with you, handles the carrier registration that business texting needs, and keeps it running.
How missed call text back works
- A customer calls and nobody answers. You're on a job, on another call, or it's after hours.
- A text goes out within seconds from your business: "Sorry we missed you, this is [Your Company]. How can we help?"
- They reply with what they need. A lot of people would rather text anyway, especially to send a photo of the problem.
- You get the reply on your phone and pick it up when you have a minute, or Ace keeps the conversation going and books the estimate.
Why a text beats a voicemail
Most people don't leave voicemails anymore. They hang up and keep calling until somebody answers. A text that lands while they're still holding the phone tells them a real business got their call and is on it. That's often all it takes to keep them from calling your competitor.
It also gives you a written record. You see the caller's name, number, and what they need before you call back, so the callback is quicker and you sound prepared.
What a good missed-call text says
We write your messages with you. A good one is short and sounds like a person:
- Your business name, so it isn't mistaken for spam.
- One easy next step: reply with what you need, or pick a time.
- Different wording after hours, so nobody expects a callback at midnight.
- How to opt out. Every message honors STOP and HELP.
Who shouldn't get a text
A good setup doesn't text everybody. We leave out your own crew's numbers, suppliers and family you add to a do-not-text list, blocked numbers, and anyone who replied STOP. The same caller won't get five texts because they called five times.
Texting rules, handled
In the U.S., business texting from a regular phone number has to be registered with the carriers (it's called A2P 10DLC). Unregistered texts get filtered or blocked. We handle that registration as part of setup, and we keep your opt-in and opt-out handling in line with the rules. See our SMS terms for how we handle it on our own number.
Pair it with fast follow-up
One text catches the caller. Lead follow-up keeps going if they go quiet, and the daily call report shows you who replied and who still needs a callback.

Questions about missed-call text back
Does the text come from my business number?
In most setups, yes. It depends on your phone setup, and we'll tell you exactly what callers will see before anything goes live.
What if the caller is on a landline?
Landlines can't receive texts, so those callers won't get one. They still show up in your daily call report so you can call them back.
Can I change the message?
Yes. We write it with you and change it any time you want.
Is missed call text back legal?
Yes, when it's done right. The caller contacted you first, the text is about their call, it identifies your business, and it honors STOP. We also handle the carrier registration business texting requires.
